Our aim as a business is to minimise our impact on the environment, wherever possible, through both our choice of component materials and through our day to day working practices.
We use, and actively promote the use of, sustainable components wherever is practically possible and endeavour to stay up to date with developments in sustainable sign making technologies.
In addition we are investigating a means of recycling certain materials such as aluminium composite and acrylic.
We donate all of our vinyl off cuts and left overs to local schools. As well as helping schools by providing much needed resources, it allows us to minimise our waste and ensures that every bit of media is used and put to good use.
Wherever we possibly can we will use eco-friendly or sustainable alternative materials. At present we use PVC-free coloured sign vinyl which uses substantially less energy to produce (less than paper) than standard vinyl as well as not releasing any harmful chemicals like Chlorine into the environment when it reaches the end of its life.
As well as this, when making flat panel or tray signs we only use aluminium composite from one specific manufacturer. This composite is made from 80% recycled plastic for the core with a partially recycled aluminium shell. Similarly, we have sourced a recyclable pvc foam board made entirely from recycled materials and also use environmentally neutral HIPS and HPL boards wherever possible.
But it isn’t always possible to use sustainable component materials when making your signs. In these circumstances (where we have to use less sustainable materials) we source these materials from carbon neutral, closed loop manufacturers.
